What the Walker C1 is

The UBTech Walker C1 is a full-size bipedal humanoid built for service work in public spaces. It sits in the same Walker product line as the Walker S2 but does a different job — the S2 goes into factories, the C1 works front-of-house.

On its own product page UBTech describes it as “the world’s first full-size humanoid service robot designed for urban symbiosis”, driven by a multimodal intelligence engine built on AI models and embodied-AI technology. That is the company’s own marketing language, not a test result.

Specs with no public source: battery hours / runtime per charge, charging time, battery capacity, per-arm payload, DoF in the hands, IP rating, noise level, stair and uneven-surface capability, price, and the official launch date. UBTech does not publish these, so we leave them out rather than estimate. Note that UBTech’s “Product Specifications” section is a sensor callout diagram, not a numeric spec table.

Why the numbers here differ from other sites

The most widely-circulated figures for the Walker C1 are 165 cm, 50 kg and 26 DoF (10 in the hands). That set comes from third-party spec aggregators such as humanoid.guide and has been repeated onward — but it does not match what UBTech publishes, which is 164 cm / 55 kg / 53 DoF.

We do not know where 165/50/26 originated. It may describe a prototype shown at the unveiling, or it may simply be a compiler’s error. What we can verify is that the manufacturer’s own page, in both English and Chinese, says 164/55/53 — so that is what this page uses.

The launch date has the same problem: reports give different days (9, 20 and 23 May 2026 all appear), and UBTech’s own newsroom carries no dated release. We therefore state only the year, 2026.

What UBTech says it is designed for

The product page groups the applications into four (these are the company’s own words, not confirmed installations):

  • Commercial services — multilingual reception, AI tour guide, shopping assistance
  • Cultural entertainment — themed event performances, visitor interaction
  • Urban safety — patrol inspection, traffic assistance
  • Education and R&D — smart teaching assistance, research and development platform

UBTech also states that standard interfaces and an SDK are available for customisation, and that the modular design allows single-person deployment.

What to know before you evaluate one

No price, in any currency. Unlike the UWORLD U1, for which UBTech announced yuan pricing at launch, the Walker C1 has no public figure at all — purchase or rental. You cannot build an ROI model on it yet.

No company-announced deployment. The only claim on the product page is the role as first official humanoid representative of the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo — an event appearance, not a hotel or airport posting.

The hands are an option. If your use case involves picking anything up, confirm whether the quoted configuration includes the dexterous hands.

No battery figure. For a lobby or event robot expected to stand a full day, runtime per charge is the number that decides whether it works. UBTech has not published it.

Who should skip this one

  • Anyone who needs a payback calculation before buying — with no price, no battery hours and no payload, there is no ROI model to build.
  • Anyone who needs delivery this year with local Thai support — we found no Thai distributor announcing itself.
  • Anyone whose core job is carrying or handling objects — the hands are optional and no payload figure is published. If you need a delivery robot with complete specs and real availability, look at the service robot category instead.
  • Sites with uneven floors or stairs — UBTech publishes nothing about the C1 on non-flat surfaces.

How much does the UBTech Walker C1 cost in Thailand? +

As of 6 August 2026 there is no Thai price, because UBTech has published no price for the Walker C1 at all — no purchase price and no rental figure, in any market. The product page on ubtrobot.com offers only a contact-sales button, and we found no Thai distributor publishing a price. Note that UBTech did publish yuan pricing for the UWORLD U1, but has not done so for the Walker C1. A real number requires a direct quote from UBTech.

How tall and heavy is the Walker C1, and how many DoF does it have? +

UBTech's own product page states 164 cm, 55 kg and 53 DoF — identical on both the English and Chinese versions of the page. The widely-repeated figures of 165 cm / 50 kg / 26 DoF come from third-party spec aggregators such as humanoid.guide and do not match what the manufacturer publishes, so this page uses UBTech's numbers.

Do the dexterous hands come as standard? +

No. The 'Product Specifications' diagram on UBTech's own product page labels the two dexterous hands 'Optional', meaning they are an add-on rather than standard equipment. If you are evaluating the Walker C1 for any object-handling work, confirm in writing whether the quoted configuration includes them.

When was the Walker C1 launched, and where has it actually been deployed? +

UBTech has no dated Walker C1 press release in its own newsroom. Media reports place the unveiling in May 2026 but disagree on the day, so we do not state one. On deployments, the only claim UBTech makes on the product page is that the Walker C1 is the first official humanoid robot representative of the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) — an event role. The company has announced no hotel or airport installation.
