About Figure AI

Figure AI was founded in 2022 in Sunnyvale, California by Brett Adcock (founder of Archer Aviation and Vettery). It is the fastest-growing humanoid startup in the US by valuation.

Product trajectory

  • Figure 01 (2023), walking, grasping prototype
  • Figure 02 (August 2024), production model, handles BMW battery modules autonomously
  • Helix (February 2025), proprietary foundation model for humanoid control via vision + language

BMW Spartanburg deployment

April 2025: Figure 02 went into 24/7 production duty at BMW X3/X5 Spartanburg, South Carolina:

  • Battery module assembly and sheet metal handling
  • ~1,000 tasks per robot per day
  • 20 hours/day of autonomous runtime

Funding & valuation

  • Series B (Feb 2024): USD 675M from OpenAI Startup Fund, Microsoft, Nvidia, Jeff Bezos, Intel, Samsung
  • Series C (Feb 2025): USD 1.5B → valuation USD 39.5B
  • Revenue is still minimal (pre-commercial)

For Thailand

Figure is not selling commercially yet, the model is direct partnership with automotive OEMs only (BMW, potentially Hyundai and Toyota). Asian market access is unlikely before 2027–2028.
